Try Grounding 5-4-3-2-1
This one is for when you feel disconnected — running cold, flat, or far away from yourself. It's gentle, it's safe for anyone, and it takes about two minutes.
Here's how:
Name five things you can see around you right now. Take your time with each one.
Name four things you can touch — the chair, your sleeve, the floor under your feet.
Name three things you can hear — even quiet sounds count.
Name two things you can smell — or two things you like the smell of, if nothing's present.
Name one thing you can taste — or one thing you're grateful for, if that fits better.
This isn't about feeling something dramatic. It's about reminding your nervous system where it is. If you noticed nothing at all — that's information too, and it's a real starting point.
